Glacial Lake in Lower Tatra Mountains, Slovakia

Natural glacial lake at Jasna, in "Lower" Tatra Mountains, Slovakia (in Autumn, 2003). One of the most beautiful places I have ever visited - perhaps anywhere! The range is part of the Carpathians. I hope to go to Poland this summer to another part of the same range - in both holidays, we are studying wildlife including bears, lynx and wolves. Here I had no direct furry encounters, but saw much evidence (of b. & w.) - ie. scats and tracks, and superb scenery. Also saw eagles flying high overhead.
